All my nights and all my days Grey to green and green to grey I play some games I shouldn't play - I guess But all my days and all my nights Nothing else ahead in sight And as you cast your shadow - You cast your light Oh darling one day - One day I’ll be over your love And darling, one day - One day I might own that heart I have You know it’s ok It’s ok with me to be all yours Whatever will be may be Still every night the sun goes down Darling, that’s the life we’re bound to - Sky above, below the ground stands still Every glimpse of starlight in your eyes And all the darkness of your lies I’ll take it all now And maybe one day - One day I’ll be over your touch Oh darling, one day - One day maybe it won’t hurt so much You know it’s ok It’s ok with me to be all yours Whatever will be may be Now all that love I couldn't handle Flooding down that dying land Oh, every drop I will be drinking down Yes, every bit of sadness in our dance And all the downfalls of romance I’ll take it all now And maybe one day - One day I’ll be over your eyes Oh darling, one day - One day suddenly I’d realise You know it’s ok It’s ok with me to be all yours Whatever will be may be

Any Day Now 03:49
We should be just like the pouring rain But i can't fake it At times i almost touch it but my hands - They get too shaky Any road the world should offer now - I know i have been taking Too many wrong turns But i know where i'm going And it won’t - it won’t be long Any day now. I do want to heal your aching heart Instead i keep on breaking - Is it me or have we grown apart? Oh, i’ve been so mad lately Any road the world should offer now - I know i have been taking Too many wrong turns But soon we’ll be home No it won’t - it won’t be long Any day now. I wonder - can you take me as I am? As i may always be? And if i change - would our love be the same? Oh, i've been so mad lately Any road the world should offer now - I know I have been taking Too many wrong turns But soon we’ll be home No it won’t - it won’t be long Any day now.

The Gate 03:09
So when the rain would knock on our gate And both our hearts are wet I'll tell the winter - you were late, But finally we've met My eyes will open then, i think, And so would both my hands That land's been dry for too long, dear, But now the season change But wait - Just stay a while longer, oh my Darling - love is here Do you dare to look beyond it Do you dare to bring it near? Do you dare to look beyond it? And when the wind would blow the gates down And raise us above this stillborn-land I never dared to hope it'll be gone But oh, my darling, maybe then! So wait, Just stay a while longer, oh my Darling - love is fast Turn to touch it and it's over Boy, it always is your last Turn to touch it and it's over And after - When the morning will fall Down on that old-well-known-dream And daylight all around it will call Out my bluffs and out my scheme I'll ask then - eyes shut, pale and dirty Standing at the gates of day Dear heart - was it really worth it? Yes it was, my heart will say. But wait - Just stay a while longer, oh my darling, love is true Do you dare to look beyond it, do you dare to see it through? Do you dare to look beyond it?

I guess they thought it’s gonna be a heaven The sky above, the earth below ‘We’d go just where we’d want to go’ They said - we think we know what home should feel like I said - you don’t - but you will know soon And our country’s always sunny oh my lord now ain't it funny All the pain that we were causing All the pain that we went through Under the sun I guess I thought I'd be ok without you I’d travel the sky above, the earth below Go just where I'd want to go I said - I’m sure I know what love should feel like Well, you don’t But you will know soon And my country’s always sunny Oh my lord now ain't it funny All the pain that I was causing All the pain that we went through Under the sun

The first time we met My dog seemed to like you We walked the city till the moon rose Then we met some friends - oh yes, I remember Said - hello, hello How are you, how was your day? The first time we met I couldn't stop praying At three in the morning the whole world seems brand new The first time we met I knew one day we’ll pay for it As the sky turned from pitch-black to blue I’ve been full of hate, I know I’ve been crazy I thought I’ll never find it But it’s you i was seeking and it’s you that I found And I don’t care - for me it’s forever The sun will never rise I saw it in your eyes The first time we met. Our last night together My dog was long gone - I think it’s been like six or seven years then You came back home and brought in our sadness Said - hello, hello How are you, how was your day? Our last night together I couldn't stop praying Said - in the morning you’ll feel different, you’ll see The last time we met I begged you to stay as the shore in your eyes Grew as blue as the sea I’ve been roaming late I know i look crazy They said i’ll never find it but it’s you i was seeking And it's you that i found And i don’t care - for me it’s forever The sun will never rise I saw it in your eyes The last time we met.

Take It 03:32
Oh, sure, you don't know As I’ve never said And love’s always faster, always two steps ahead The way things were going - I could never pay the price on his heart Sure, I’m after that glow That we always had That could never last and was driving me mad What exactly was so damn right - I could not say But I never felt that way before And I never felt that way again So take it or leave it Because all the boys are standing in the shadow All the promises you broke As my dreams went up in smoke No, I won’t let those tears choking my throat matter And I don’t need your shadow Switch the light on - let me go no , I won’t let you get under my skin again - I know better So take it or leave it Because all the boys are standing in the shadow

You said as we stood in the light All my devils are out tonight Nothing in the world is out of sight But the moon is growing Shining above our heads bright That rock doesn’t care if we curse and fight Yes nothing in the world is out of sight But I just don't know What were you looking for? With your dark eyes, your smooth lies Your holding the door for me, come on, Your love is as cold as my thundering tears As I feared all my life when there's nothing to fear I see it so clear now I see it so clear I see it so clear You said - let's stay up all night Oh my dear, it is broken, I'm frightened And Nothing in the world is out of sight Are you still going? What are you looking for With your eyes down Your shoes on, your - “don’t let me go” darling, come on I love you to death but I know what you’re doing saying it’s wrong When you know that it’s true Saying you don’t when you know that you do When you know that you do What are you looking for? With your dark eyes Your smooth lies Your “I’ll be yours always” oh, come on I could smell the end from a mile away You want to talk it through but have nothing to say It's the end of the day

Only Water 03:19
Only Water Our days will be handsome Our evenings will be bright I thought we’ll always have it But we’re losing it tonight The moon might stay hanging The sun might shine it’s light But when the morning comes we’ll have to up and face the fight And I looked up to the moon and stars - “Please, oh, cast some light!” Knowing was a way to end that long, dark, lonely night Knowing was my way to see your dear face finally But also to forever close the door And we walked that road as if it didn't tear our feet apart As if it’s only water running through our veins And when the day came - we finally split two ways Said our last goodbyes and there was nothing left to say - i said The moon might stay hanging The sun might shine all day But when the morning comes we’ll have to up and face away And I said - I need you so But then I couldn't tell you why Lying was a way to cover up a darker lie Your lying is okay with me as long as you are there You said as I forever closed the door And i walked away as if it didn't tear my feet apart As if it’s only water running through my veins And I didn't wanna know but nonetheless - We lost the fight Was it really seven years ago? Was it last night? And when we met again and you asked - Does it ever snow? The mountains shook their white heads I said no. And I shook your hand as if you didn’t have my only heart As if it’s only water running through my veins.

Soon 03:48
She never told the story I was eager so to hear At times I thought the glory of our short and stumbling years Was nothing but a rumour Nothing but an ache The wind had brought to bloom here And soon the wind will take But see all that we have here See all that we’ve lost If you knew from the beginning Would you’ve ever paid the cost? See all that we have here See I was never worried though I’m losing ever since Your love has started wars I know that I could never win You left when it was so early And early I have stayed See - I could never leave until all memories will fade But see all that we have here See all that we’ve lost If you knew from the beginning Would you’ve ever paid the cost? See all that we have here

about

Tel Aviv based songstress Kama Vardi is a charming enigma, a very old soul in a young woman’s body, and an artist who effortlessly garners 5-star reviews from top Israeli critics yet feels like a wonderful secret still to be uncovered.

When you listen to Vardi’s new album Moonticket you are reminded of a different world, of zeitgeist outcasts such as Emily Dickenson, Molly Drake and Nico. Of a time ruled by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Tom Waits, when music was centred by honesty, and committed to a deeper sense of things. It’s a world that still exists if you listen carefully enough, beating quietly right under the other one.

Moonticket is timeless in feel, where simple production and harmonies offer a delicate stage décor which allows the lyrics to take centre stage - for the words are the album’s glowing element, a breath-taking monologue told quietly in the listener’s ear.

Vardi’s style is one of storytelling, told through the lens of a woman whose life experiences have made her both fragile, world weary but also very wise. Similarities can be made to Vardi and aforementioned Nico – whom Vardi pays homage to on the album’s cover of ‘These Days’. Both artists shared the experience of a misspent childhood, a sense of growing up too young and too fast. As Vardi expands ““I love Nico’s point of view on ‘These Days’ – no longer a gambler, a talker, a lover. It is a song of a woman who had great adventures that left her standing humble, wide eyed and weary in front of the rest of her life, a feeling I was familiar with from a young age.” Both artists sing with a raw honesty of their experiences, losses and loves with their equally beguiling and gently accented vocals.
